Kudos to the New Jersey State Park Service for such a nice facility. It was also very nice, with both outdoor and indoor displays of the natural side of things related to the area. We did make it to the nature center just down the road from the viewing area. Every New Jersey photographer needs this shot in their portfolio. We did not make it, but there is a walkway to a science center and ferries that run to both Liberty Island and Ellis Island. The historic Red Mill is one of the most photographed buildings in America. It had a nice visitor center (with restrooms), a picnic/family friendly area complete with grills, and very spacious grounds that included a nice WWII memorial. Was I surprised!
